twilight
After Bangkok Dangerous, i'm now on my next not-a-movie-but-a-movie-titled blog. Books for me are like diphenhydramine - with sedating effect. This will actually be my prescription for the insomniacs, hyperactive and zombees. It works for me, i just dunno if reading books has the same effect with the general public.
Enough of the introduction. okay. While i was stucked in Bangkok, Marie called me and said she watched a vampire movie - Twilight. Not just once but thrice! It was Edward Cullen's appeal that made her go back and watch it 3x.
On my first day back in office, my friend gave me an audiobook version of the twilight saga. "Now, this is cool, let's see if this will keep me awake, cuz i will definitely not read the book version, knowing that the Twilight Saga is 4 books!".
Let me try this nonconventional way of "reading". And so i started. It was the unabridged version narrated by Llyana Kadushin. Is the audiobook version as diphenhydraminic as the visual book version? To my surprise, its not! This version actually made me "thirsty" for more. Such a lovely voice! A few minutes passed and twilight consumed me. It seems i'm under the spell of Bella's voice that i have to continue "hunting" the book. Ahhh, Bella, Bella, Bella. The accident-magnet Bella, my Bella.
I guess i have to stop from here. So? did i like this nonconventional reading you might ask? I'm now in Book 3 - Eclipse. Hooked. Enchanted. Bellafied.
(for the movie version..... i'll probably stick with the audiobook version for now, i'll probably wait for the clear dvd (blue ray daw) copy in Quiapo)the hunt is on!

Hahaha, I have to agree - the voice is enchanting. As for the book, err writing style, I don't know. I feel like it's the chummy version of Anne Rice.
But you have to see the movie. Especially the hopping in the trees part. Love it. :)
merrycherry: ok i will definitely see the movie in due time. tapusin ko na muna yung saga. am at breaking dawn na.
hi rheiboy,
thanks for the visit! keep on blogging!
maligayang pasko in advance to you and your family!
i watched the movie first before reading the book. and when i read the book, medyo na-bore ako at nagskip ng chapters, medyo dragging kasi. nagstop lang ako hanggang book 2.
interesting ! Now that's something I want to try other than watching Twilight hehe :) Looks like the movie rocks :)

hindi ko pa nasusubukan iyan. a friend was even telling me he'd give me an ebook and i can't imagine how it would be like. i'm so old fashioned i want to be able to touch the book i'm reading. dog-eared and all. hehe.
Bw: actually, mixed reviews. kaya hindi rin tuloy ako nagmamadaling panuorin yung book, este yung movie. hehehe
atticus: try it! less diphenhydraminic.
Whaha, I dunno but I find the movie so screw... sorry for those who are fans, rather pound and ounce it with nothing but EC's freaking skin complexion, dished it! Good thing the sequel has a better line.
And btw do they really have to figure that a vamp must be at his all too white?
---
Yeah Man, I'm talking abt koreans in my last entry ;)
dazedblu: see, definitely mixed reviews for the movie.
----
on Korean movies: have you watched memories to remember? il mare?
Hey! Ok naba Bangkok ngayon? Safe na?
Im not a fan of Twilgiht, pero we watched, sakto lang! ;)
chyng: i think ok na. their supreme court ordered the present government to step down and the previous election as null and void. i'm sure in the coming months, bagsak presyo ang travel package sa bangkok.
kaya sige na byahe na muli! wala pa sa kalingkingan ang "gulo nila" na hindi tayo sanay dito. i think mas mature ang mga pinoy in handling political turmoils that happens every now and then....
Hi Rheiboy,
I'd like to invite you (and all other docs reading here!) to the TBR Christmas edition which I've volunteered to host.
The theme is memorable/unforgettable Christmas past or your childhood Christmas dreams and stuff like that. Deadline is supposed to be today but of course that's adjustable as time seems to fly so fast these days.
More details over at our TBR yahoo groups site.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
